Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch talked to Cardinals GM John Mozeliak, who said the Cardinals could look outside the organization for a third baseman if they get bad news about Troy Glaus next month. The team's current third basemen, mainly Brian Barden and Joe Thurston, have provided a .243/.323/.357 line. Mozeliak says top prospect Brett Wallace is not under consideration.
Who might be available for trade? Mark DeRosa, Garrett Atkins, Melvin Mora, and Adrian Beltre seem like possibilities.

간단하게 카디널스가 다음달 정도에 복귀가 예상되는 3루수인 트로이글로스에 대해서 좋지 않은 뉴스를 들었을때 3루포지션을 트레이드를 통해 전력보강에 나설 수 있다는 이야기입니다..
일단 글로스 복귀만 염원하면서 기둘리긴 하는데 글로스의 상태가 좋지 않다면 데로사, 엣킨스, 모라, 벨트레.. 정도가 카즈가 노려봄직한 가능성이 있다는 거네요.. 근데.. 제 생각엔 벨트레는 아닌거 같네요 ㅡ_ㅡ;;
According to Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse, the Mets have been talking to the Indians about acquiring Mark DeRosa. With Jose Reyes' injury last night, Price says "now that move makes even more sense."
What would it take to get DeRosa, who is hitting .255/.322/.427 in 174 plate appearances this year? First off I'd guess full relief of the $4.1MM still owed to him. Beyond that the rumor yesterday was pitching that could help the Indians this year.

According to Craig Elsten of 619 Sports, the Brewers acquired Jody Gerut from the Padres for Tony Gwynn Jr. MLB.com's Corey Brock confirms it.
Gerut, 31, had a fine comeback year in '08 but is off to a .221/.248/.381 start in 121 plate appearances this year. He's played center and right field for the Padres. His defense rates as a plus. Since he has decent service time he's up to a $1.775MM salary.

He will replace injured Omar Infante (hand) on the roster. He owns a .355 batting average and .891 OPS this season, so he'll likely see some at-bats, but will mostly be used as a backup infielder.

Bailey was summoned to take the rotation spot of injured starter Edinson Volquez. Bailey, a former top prospect, will start on Saturday against the Indians. He was 3-5 with a 4.60 ERA in eight starts for Louisville.
